Tutoring Protocol
The meetingWe meet altogether. During this time we discuss one another's hopes and expectations in regards to tutoring. I'll also ask your child a few questions and get to know him/her a little bit. And of course you are welcome to ask me any questions. I'll also ask that you bring any recent work samples. This will help me in beginning to assess your child's content abilities.
|
AssessmentsI will leave you with a learning styles inventory and/or content assessment for your child to take at home. During this time I may also request to connect with your child's educator to discuss content-related questions for the purpose of gleaning a deeper understanding of academic strengths and growth points.
*I would like to provide a disclaimer that I am not an educational psychologist, and so the inventory and/or assessments provided are not meant to be perfectly accurate. |
Results and decisionAfter scoring the inventory and/or content assessment, thinking about our conversation during the initial meeting, and taking into account any educator recommendations, I will suggest a course of action. This summary and course of action page will be emailed to you, at which point your family will decide if you would like to proceed with me as your child's tutor (as well as make any suggestions/adjustments to the course of action).
