Private Tutoring
My tutoring sessions are data-driven, structured, and well-planned. Each session takes 1.5-2.5 hours of behind-the-scenes planning. I use the results of a learning styles assessment to tailor how I approach the teaching and learning process with each student. For example, a student who is a tactile learner will engage with more hands-on tasks than a student who is an auditory learner. After each session, parents go home with an agenda (see photo to the right), which outlines what we covered, along with comments. Before starting a tutoring regiment, I recommend following a protocol that is described in detail here. This process not only helps me better understand the learner and his/her needs, but also provides both me and the family an opportunity to assess compatibility. |

- Mathematics - elementary through 7th grade
- Reading Comprehension & Analysis - elementary through high school
- Writing - elementary through high school
- French - levels 1-3
- Planning and Organization - I support middle and high schoolers with breaking down larger projects and tasks into sub tasks (and associated timeline). Think, project planning, but for students! I also check-in with students virtually to ensure they are following through on the plan. This is particularly helpful for students who struggle with certain executive functioning skills.
